Trade & Services
Connecting people, products, and markets — commodity trade, cross-border commerce, and travel & mobility services across Africa and beyond.
The Trade & Services cluster drives GRCL's commercial, logistics, and mobility operations, managing the movement of commodities and people across domestic and international markets. This cluster combines commodity marketing expertise with cross-border trade capability and a full-service travel & mobility practice to create a complete commercial platform spanning goods and services.
Nigeria sits at the crossroads of African trade, with access to a domestic market of over 200 million consumers, proximity to regional markets through ECOWAS, and new continental corridors opening under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). GRCL's Trade & Services cluster is positioned to capitalise on these converging opportunities, providing the market access, logistics infrastructure, trade finance, and mobility services that connect African producers, businesses, and individuals to opportunities across the continent and beyond.
The cluster works in close coordination with the Agriculture & Processing divisions, providing the commercial outlet for GRCL's own production while also serving third-party clients who need reliable trade, logistics, and travel partners across Africa's complex and rapidly evolving commercial landscape. Whether moving cargo through Nigeria's ports, structuring cross-border deals, or arranging corporate, leisure, religious, educational, or relocation travel, the Trade & Services cluster brings the same standards of reliability and execution to every engagement.
Divisions in Trade & Services
Commodity Marketing
Global Resources Citadel's Commodity Marketing division serves as the commercial engine of the Group's trade operations, managing the sourcing, aggregation, and sale of agricultural commodities across domestic and international markets. The division handles high-volume transactions in grains, oilseeds, and cash crops, leveraging deep market intelligence and established buyer relationships. Operating from strategically located trading offices, the division provides price discovery, logistics coordination, and risk management services that help African producers access premium markets. With the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) opening new corridors for intra-African commerce, the division is positioned to capitalise on the continent's expanding trade infrastructure. Our trading desks maintain relationships with food manufacturers, export houses, and institutional buyers across West Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The Commodity Marketing division's strength lies in its ability to aggregate supply from multiple sources — including GRCL's own farming operations — and deliver consistent quality and volume to buyers who require reliability above all else.
- Market Intelligence — Real-time commodity price tracking and market analysis informing strategic buying and selling decisions.
- Logistics Coordination — End-to-end supply chain management from farm-gate aggregation through port delivery and export documentation.
- Buyer Relationships — Established networks with domestic manufacturers, regional traders, and international commodity houses.
Import & Export
The Import & Export division manages GRCL's international trade operations, handling the movement of goods across borders with efficiency and regulatory compliance, leveraging Nigeria's position as West Africa's largest trading economy. The division imports industrial equipment, agricultural inputs, and specialised materials that support the Group's operational divisions, while exporting Nigerian commodities and processed goods to markets across Africa and beyond. With expertise in customs clearance, trade finance, and international logistics, the division navigates the complexities of cross-border commerce on behalf of both GRCL entities and third-party clients. Our team maintains relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and port authorities across multiple African trade corridors to ensure smooth cargo movement through the continent's major ports. The Import & Export division plays a critical role in GRCL's vertical integration strategy, ensuring that the Group's farming and processing operations have reliable access to the equipment, inputs, and export channels they need to compete at scale.
- International Logistics — Full-service freight management including ocean, air, and overland transport coordination across multiple trade corridors.
- Customs & Compliance — Expert customs brokerage and regulatory compliance services ensuring smooth clearance at Nigerian ports.
- Trade Finance — Letters of credit, trade insurance, and financing arrangements that facilitate large-scale cross-border transactions.
Travel & Mobility
Global Resources Citadel's Travel & Mobility division brings the same execution standards that define the Group's commodity and trade operations to a different kind of cargo: people. Operating from offices in Lagos and London, the division delivers full-service travel and mobility solutions for corporate clients, individual travellers, religious pilgrims, students, and families relocating across borders. Where most travel businesses focus on a single product line, Travel & Mobility integrates corporate travel management, leisure tour operation, inbound destination services, religious pilgrimage logistics, education and study-abroad pathways, and work-permit and relocation support under one accountable operator. This breadth means GRCL can serve a Group employee booking a business trip, a family planning Hajj, a student preparing to study in the UK, and a professional relocating for work — all from the same organisation, with the same standards of compliance, documentation, and aftercare. The division's value comes from operational discipline, not retail price competition. With trade finance, customs, and cross-border logistics expertise already embedded in the Trade & Services cluster, Travel & Mobility extends those capabilities into the movement of people — handling visa processes, embassy liaison, immigration documentation, and on-the-ground support that less experienced operators routinely fumble.
- Corporate Travel Management — End-to-end business travel programmes for organisations — flight and hotel sourcing, expense control, traveller tracking, and 24/7 in-trip support.
- Leisure Tours & Holidays — Curated outbound holiday experiences and tour packages across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia for individuals, families, and groups.
- Inbound Tourism & DMC — Destination management services for international visitors to West Africa — itinerary design, ground handling, and cultural experience curation.
